Then you were finally rewarded for all your faith and individuality.
You got Pokesav and a flash card. :3
Let’s first take a
look at the top 10 Pokémon, ranked by total stats:
Arceus is sitting right up there with all base stats at a
ridiculous 120, for a monstrous total of 720. But why should Arceus be so mighty
while your favourite Pokémon is cast into the stat ranking shadows? Let us
harness the godly power of Pokesav to correct this injustice.
After studying all the existing Pokémon abilities, I can
compile a list of the best:
1. Wonder Guard
This Pokémon
only receives damage from attacks belonging to types that cause Super Effective
to this Pokémon. Wonder Guard does not protect a Pokémon from status ailments
(burn, freeze, paralysis, poison, sleep, Toxic or any of their side effects or
damage), recoil damage nor the moves Beat Up, Bide, Doom Desire, Fire Fang,
Future Sight, Hail, Leech Seed, Sandstorm, Spikes, Stealth Rock and Struggle.
Wonder Guard cannot be Skill Swapped nor Role Played. Trace, however, does copy
Wonder Guard.
2. Huge Power /Pure
Power
This Pokémon’s
Attack stat is doubled. Therefore, if this Pokémon’s Attack stat on the status
screen is 200, it effectively has an Attack stat of 400; which is then subject
to the full range of stat boosts and reductions.
3. No Guard
Both this
Pokémon and the opponent will have 100% accuracy for any attack.
4. Serene Grace
The side
effects of this Pokémon’s attack occur twice as often. For example, if this Pokémon
uses Ice Beam, it will have a 20% chance to freeze it's target.
5. Speed Boost
While this
Pokémon is active, it’s Speed increased by one stage at the end of every turn;
the six stage maximum for stat boosts is still in effect.
6. Download
If this
Pokémon switches into an opponent with equal Defenses or higher Defense than
Special Defense, this Pokémon’s Special Attack receives a 50% boost. If this
Pokémon switches into an opponent with higher Special Defense than Defense,
this Pokémon’s Attack receive a 50% boost.
7. Technician
When this Pokémon
uses an attack that has 60 Base Power or less, the move's Base Power receives a
50% boost. For example, a move with 60 Base Power effectively becomes a move
with 90 Base Power.
8. Magic Bounce
Reflects
non-damaging moves back at the originator. The affected moves are the same ones
susceptible to Magic Coat.
9. Magic Guard
Prevents all
damage except from direct attacks.
10. Simple
This Pokemon doubles all of it's positive and negative stat modifiers. For example, if this Pokemon uses Curse, it's Attack and Defense stats each receive a two-level increase while it's Speed stat receives a two-level decrease.
11. Poison Heal
If this Pokémon
becomes poisoned or Toxic Poisoned, it will recover one-eighth of its max HP
after each turn. However, this Pokémon will continue to lose health as the
player walks on the overworld screen.
12. Tinted Lens
Doubles the power of moves that are Not Very Effective against opponents.
13. Adaptability
This Pokémon’s attacks that receive STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) are increased from 50% to 100%.
14. Moxie
When this Pokémon knocks out another Pokémon, it's Attack is raised by one level.
15. Drought /Drizzle /Snow Warning /Sand Stream

When this
Pokemon enters the battlefield, it causes a permanent weather condition that
can only be stopped by Air Lock, Cloud Nine or another weather condition.
Before I go on, I am obliged to offer some subtle warnings
and an explanation about what you are about to read.
Q1. What is it?
A1. Pokesav is a program which is used to edit the save
files of Pokémon DS games. You need a rom and a flash card or cartridge for
your Nintendo DS in order to proceed. There are also other ways to alter your
save files, but they usually require some form of cheat device.
Q2. What can I achieve with Pokesav?
A2. You can do a great many things with Pokesav, but I
primarily use it for two things. The first is obviously altering the nature,
IVs, EVs, movesets and shiny status of my Pokémon. The second is changing what
and how many items I am carrying in the game.
Q3. Will Pokesav mess up my save file?
A3. There is a small chance that it will, so always back up
your save file before editing it with Pokesav. Personally, the worst that
Pokesav has ever done to my save files is cause a ‘Save file is corrupt. The
previous save data will be loaded’ error. Removing the flash card and opening +
saving the affected save file up again in Pokesav has always fixed this
problem, however.
Q4. Won’t my Pokémon become hacked and illegal if I use
Pokesav on them?
A4. There is a fine line between a ‘hacked’ and a ‘legit’
Pokémon these days. When done correctly, Pokesav can be used to create
perfectly legitimate Pokémon. When done badly, it can also produce noticeably
hacked ones as well. The choice is yours – I find using Pokesav to be a great
benefit and time saver.
Even if you don’t use Pokesav altered Pokémon for
competitive battling, having a Ditto parent with 31 IVs in all stats is
extremely useful for breeding baby Pokémon with 31 IVs in most of their stats. Owning
a Pokémon with 31 IVs in most stats is not nearly such a rare occurrence
anymore.
I clearly label and back up all my Pokémon saves so
untouched .pkm files and altered ones are distinctly separated. I don’t
participate in serious competitions, so it’s not such a hassle for me to have
both legal and illegal Pokémon loaded onto the same game.
If you’re really against this type of ‘cheating’, there are
other alternatives which will yield similar results. I highly recommend RNG
abuse as a less frowned upon Pokesav replacement. And if you have the time, you
can always breed and train your Pokémon the old fashioned way.
Q5. What if I use these godly hacked Pokémon to crush the
dreams of small children?
A5. Don’t use this post to fulfill your nefarious schemes
for world domination. It’s Pokémon. Have some respect for the game. Go to the in-game
Battle Frontier and use your hacked behemoths to earn some BP instead.
And don’t try to enter any kind of serious local competition
with the uber Pokémon which you created with Pokesav. You’ll most likely have
jealous youngsters pointing their fingers at you and whining about your
cheating ways. In contrast, battling with your equally Pokesav savvy friends will
prove to be a very interesting experience.
Now, here is a pool of my in game Pokémon that I will be

What I have done here is change different aspects of these Pokémon, including things like legal ability, moves and IVs. Taking this one step further by maxing out all EVs beyond the 510 total legal limit to 255 per stat is also an option which I have demonstrated above.
Of course,
there are many other options you can have using Pokesav, but I tried to make my
altered Pokémon somewhat plausible. If I wanted something really cheap, I could
have given a Spiritomb Wonder Guard. All Pokémon can still be defeated in
battle, even if they are Pokesav altered – it’s just another (somewhat unfair) way to play the
game. :)
